Amy Brownlee, MLSAmy Brownlee, MLS, was named the 2017 Kansas School Librarian of the Year for developing an outstanding library media program and making noteworthy contributions to the profession. She won a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship and spent a month in Africa with the Ethiopia Reads organization, received the Beta Phi Mu Achievement Award from Emporia State University for outstanding work in graduate studies, and served on the William Allen White Children’s Book Award Selection Committee. Most recently, she was selected for a National Endowment for the Humanities program on Teaching with Comics at San Diego State University's Center for Comic Studies. In her 25+ years as an educator, Amy has written numerous grants and secured over $93,000 in funding for her libraries for technology, books, ebooks, special programs, professional development, and STEAM materials. Amy is a reading teacher and district librarian for Sterling USD 376 and has given over 40 presentations at local, state, regional, and national conferences.
